Department of Systems Engineering Science

Integrating both electrical  and mechanical engineering, Department of Systems Engineering Science consisting of four divisions described in the following aims to explore and create novel and high-tech engineering fields.  With a vie to pursuing energy saving/recycling-based society, integrity of environment and sustainable technology development, the Department provides opportunity at post graduate levels to extend in depth and breadth the knowledge and skills in the fields of material engineering, thermo-fluid engineering, control engineering and information technology.

Division of Material Engineering

By the studies of the principles in electronic materials, engineering material, tribology and micro processing from the viewpoints of micro- and macro-scopic, new materials in semiconductors and functional materials and the concept of material design are developed for saving material and energy.

Division of Thermo-Fluid Engineering

This division offers graduate study and research aiming at establishing an energy-saving/recycling-based society. Academic fields of this division are based on thermo-dynamics and fluid-dynamics and are spread over wide areas
as follows: theoretical/experimental analysis for thermo-fluid phenomena, methodology of energy conversion with high efficiency, developing utilization technique of energy with emission-free. Emphasis is on interactive activities in research and education between mechanical engineering and electronics for the purpose of bringing up researchers and engineers having not only professional abilities but broad views of technology.

Division of Control Engineering

Offering the cutting edge modern control technology together with classical control methodologies, this division aims at developing control theories while making practical use of control technologies for industries.  Particular emphasis is placed on robust control, nonlinear control, active vibration/noise control, smart structures, mechatronics, robotics and micro machines.

Division of Computer Science and Intelligent Systems

This division specializes in information processing, computer architecture, hardware and software while seeking to nurture future technicians and researchers for the rapidly developing fields of information technology.
