TMIT is a young institution founded in 1986, whose new mission of our University is to take leadership in science and technology, both in education and research. We are proud of our superb faculty, excellent students, educational and research facilities, and a favorable location in Tokyo in terms of transportation and environment.
The special feature of TMIT is the interdisciplinary combination of four departments consisting of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Production and Information Systems Engineering.
The graduate school consists of two Master's Degree courses: Applied Dynamic Systems Engineering and Electronics and Information Systems Engineering. The one Doctor's Degree course is offered as Engineering Systems.

Many of our graduates are already actively involved with leading R&D in various fields of science and technology.
TMIT, "a university open to the public", provides a place to exchange research and education with the community. We have the Center for Science and Research Exchange, where joint projects are conducted with industrial companies, and a number of lectures are open to the public.
We have started to develop a strategic plan toward the 21st century. The key words of the strategic plan are technology for a sustainable society, globalization, computer-based research and education.
TMIT, through education and research, is making the utmost effort in contributing to the future of mankind.
